Internship Leads to Shareholder for Justin Linscott of Holbrook & Manter, CPAs

Holbrook & Manter, CPAs Professional Services Firm has a new Shareholder and has again proven the effectiveness of its college internship program.

The firm, with offices in Columbus, Dublin, Marion, and Marysville, promoted Justin T. Linscott, CPA, CFP®, CITP, CGMA to an owner of the firm – just nine years after his internship there. He is one of six H&M managers and Principals – out of a total of nine – who joined the firm as interns.

H&M President and Managing Principal Bradley H. Ridge said, “From the start, Justin stood out as an example of the young entrepreneurial talent that we and other sophisticated CPA firms are looking for. He is driven to provide clients with excellent service, and his rise to Principal is an exciting new chapter for Holbrook & Manter.”

Since graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2006, Linscott has specialized in strategic tax planning and implementation in the taxation of individuals, partnerships, and corporations. His expertise lies in estate and gift tax law, fiduciary taxation, and tax planning.

“I am so excited to be a partner at Holbrook & Manter.  It has always been a goal of mine since I started with the firm as an intern.  This is a terrific firm with nearly 100 years of history and many more years in the making.  I am looking forward to serving our clients with only the best.” Holbrook & Manter was founded in Marion in 1919 before expanding to additional offices in Columbus, Dublin, and Marysville.

Likewise, Linscott has expanded the scope of his services at Holbrook & Manter. He earned a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designation and assists clients with trust and estate planning, as well as helping individuals and businesses achieve their financial goals.  He also has significant experience in the firm’s audit and assurance teams.

“We are very delighted that we are able to align Justin’s talent, expertise and passions with the needs of Holbrook & Manter, and most importantly, our clients,” said Stephen C. Smith, a Principal with Holbrook & Manter.

Smith added that Linscott’s special skill and background in education will play a significant role in the firm’s future.  Linscott serves as an instructor and Vice President of Operations for MDS CPA Review, a nationally-recognized CPA exam review course. He also has been an adjunct professor at Ohio Wesleyan University.

“Justin has a strong understanding of complex accounting and tax theories and the ability to explain them in easy-to-understand terms – a great benefit to our clients,” Smith said. “He also will play a valuable role in mentoring new team members and preparing them, by example, for leadership with his passion and energy for excellence.”
