Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has announced the 2026 Ohio Sales Tax Holiday will take place from 12:00 a.m. Friday, August 7, through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2026. Having the Sales Tax Holiday run for this duration returns it back to the length it was prior to 2025. Last year, the holiday ran from August 1-14.
In 2025, the value of the items covered was expanded to include goods priced at $500 and under. For 2026, the value rules revert back to the figures used in 2025 and are as follows:
- Clothing priced at $75 or less per item
- School supplies priced at $20 or less per item
- School instructional materials priced at $20 or less per item
