H&M Celebrates Manufacturing Day!

October 4, 2019 is Manufacturing Day!

Given that we have been working with Manufacturers since our firm started 100 years ago, we always stop and take a moment to recognize this special day. Also known as MFG Day, this is held annually on the first Friday in October. This day helps show the reality of modern manufacturing careers by encouraging thousands of companies and educational institutions around the country to open their doors to students, parents, teachers and community leaders.

MFG day was created and rolled out by Founding Partner Fabricators and Manufactures Association, International in 2012. Each year, the events surround this day grow in number and size. The MFG website provides this summary of this important day:

Manufacturing Day addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. By working together during and after MFG DAY, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.

MFG DAY is designed to amplify the voice of individual manufacturers and coordinate a collective chorus of manufacturers with common concerns and challenges. The rallying point for a growing mass movement, MFG DAY empowers manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.

Events are taking place across the country in honor of MFG Day. Manufactures are opening their doors and showing the skill and expertise that goes in to all that we do. Having worked with manufacteres for decades, we are always in awe of these processes. Learn more about the events taking place near you and across the nation by clicking here:
