Parrott and Ridge Join Marion General Hospital Foundation Board

Rex A. Parrott, president and chief operating officer at Wyandot, Inc., and Bradley H. Ridge, CPA, president and managing principal, Holbrook & Manter, CPAs, have been named to the Marion General Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.

Both have been appointed to serve three-year terms, according to Amar Purewal, chairman of the Foundation board.

Parrott joined Wyandot in 1984 as Human Resources Manager, later serving as vice president, Human Resources; vice president, Human Resources and Materials; vice president, Customer Satisfaction, and executive vice president, Operations. Prior to joining Wyandot, Parrott worked for Tecumseh Products Co., Stratoflex, Inc., and Borden, Inc. in operations and human resources positions. He also served as an officer in the U.S. Navy.

Parrott is a graduate of Miami University with a bachelor’s degree in business and the University of Dayton with an MBA. Parrott has been married for 40 years to Carolyn, a retired Marion City Schools teacher. They have adult twin sons, Alan and Stephen, both who are graduates of the University of Akron, married and working in the Cleveland area.

Parrott has served as a board member with the following organizations: Marion Speech and Hearing Center, Palace Theatre, Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities,Marion General Hospital and OhioHealth. Currently, he serves on the boards of the Wyandot Popcorn Museum and Marion Community Foundation.

Ridge has been with Holbrook & Manter since 1982, and along with his responsibilities as managing principal, helps clients on assurance, tax, management advisory services, and business and individual wealth planning. Prior to joining Holbrook & Manter, Ridge was with Deloitte & Touche. He has expertise with large and small businesses in several industries, with a particular focus on services to closely held businesses and their owners.

Ridge often speaks on various subjects including the Life Long Learning Programs, business and individual wealth financial planning. He also enjoys leading discussions on board fiduciary responsibilities and faith-based financial planning.

Ridge earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at The Ohio State University. Professional accreditation includes being a Certified Public Accountant and Ohio Licensed Investment Advisor.

His associations and memberships include several professional organizations, Marion General Hospital Board of Directors, past chairman; OhioHealth Board of Directors and Financial Committee; trustee and board member of several foundation and community boards, and investment chairman for Marion Rotary Foundation.

Brad and his wife, Kathy, infection control coordinator for Marion General Hospital, will soon celebrate 33 years of marriage. They have three sons, Ryan, who along with his wife, Ashley, lives in Dayton; Kyle, who lives in Marysville, Missouri, and Cory, who along with his wife, Kimberly, lives in Tiffin.

Marion General Hospital Foundation was established in 1984, for the support of healthcare facilities and programs in our community. The Marion General Hospital Foundation is governed by an 11-member Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of area business leaders, physicians and community representatives who oversee the Foundation’s fundraising projects and manage allocation of funds.

The Foundation is dedicated to obtaining charitable contributions and then managing and distributing those funds so that the hospital can fulfill its mission: “To improve the health of those we serve.” The Foundation advances healthcare in our community through advocacy, philanthropy, education, stewardship, and relationships.

Other members of the Marion General Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees are: Tom Frericks, vice chairman; Larry Geissler, treasurer; Sister Joan Brodman, secretary; Ted Babich, Noel Eboh, M.D., John Garnes, C. Gary Iams, Lenora Mayes, and Violet Griffith-Ward.
