This letter is for our clients and friends as an update to some of the things that are happening in the life of our firm, Holbrook & Manter, CPAs (H&M).  Regardless of what we all hear in the daily news about our country and the world, this is an exciting and blessed time, and we have many things for which to be thankful.    

H&M was founded in 1919 and has been a leading public accounting and business consulting firm. We specialize in serving the multifaceted needs of closely and family owned businesses and their owners throughout Ohio, primarily concentrating on the greater Central Ohio region.  Our commitment is to make a positive difference in the lives of our clients by Providing Integrated Financial Solutions.

H&M is a full services firm that offers accounting outsource solutions, compilation, review, auditing, tax planning and compliance, financial and estate planning, and consulting services.  Our clients repeatedly tell us they especially appreciate our wealth management and investment advisory services.  The firm consists of approximately forty (40) team members, including six (6) owners.

On January 1, 2011, we were honored to welcome Jason S. Keller into the firm as a Principal.  Jason is a graduate of Ohio Northern University and has been with the firm for 13 years providing outstanding service primarily in auditing and consulting for manufacturing, healthcare, agribusiness, and professional industries.  We are looking forward to the coming years of Jason’s unique council and advice.

Our client base includes closely and/or family owned businesses in industries, such as: agribusiness, construction, healthcare, manufacturing, professional services, as well as governmental and not-for-profit organizations.

FIRM HIGHLIGHTS

We have been concentrating more than ever on you, our client and your needs.  During 2010, we implemented a comprehensive service review process and our management team meets frequently on this initiative.  This has helped us successfully approach our client’s needs and business development efforts as a firm and better focus upon solutions.

Like all successful business enterprises during challenging economic times, we must work not only IN our business, but also ON our business with focus precision. 

We have internally developed and implemented a management module at H&M, which aligns our development initiatives with our strategic vision.  This provides for a definitive focus for each one of our management team members.

H&M and our team members are actively involved (e.g. churches, Rotary, Lions, several chambers of commerce, various community boards, food pantries, trustees, etc.) and give back to our communities whenever and wherever we can.  Additionally, we sponsor and participate regularly in “meet and greet” sessions with regional and community banks, law firms, insurance agencies and other potential business and alliance partners to expand our knowledge and develop valuable relationships for your needs.

During 2010, H&M was accepted by PKF North America as its only Central Ohio member.  PKF North America is an accounting firm association (totaling approximately 90 firms throughout North America) that helps its member firms to continuously improve client service by providing high level resources throughout North America (and even around the world); increasing access to specific specialized knowledge and expertise; providing superior professional education; enabling best practices solutions; and firm support.  Most importantly, we believe our clients will benefit from the knowledge and collaborative advantage of this terrific alliance.

We have again ascended the ranks of Business First’s – List of Top Central Ohio Accounting Firms.  We are blessed and honored that our clients have allowed us to experience continued growth. 

TECHNOLOGY

For all the right reasons, we strive to operate H&M as a paperless environment for principally all of our services.  We utilize document management systems to further improve our efficiency and productivity to meet our client’s needs.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

H&M is extremely passionate about providing quality in everything we do for our friends and clients.  To support this commitment, we voluntarily subject ourselves to our profession’s top national association’s (AICPA) Peer Review Program.  This is a significant evaluation process in which we have always received the most prestigious results.  In addition, we also voluntarily participate in AICPA quality programs such as the Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center and the Governmental Audit Quality Center.

AFFILIATES

Although we have been providing wealth planning services for decades, we want you to know that Pinnacle Wealth Planning Services, Inc., founded in 1998 by William D. Heichel, works exclusively with CPAs and attorneys to provide comprehensive financial planning and investment advisory services on a fee-only basis to clients like ours.  Through H&M Advisors, LLC we have been working with Pinnacle since 1999 and are able to help and assist our friends and clients as a fiduciary and advocate for their wealth planning and investment advisory needs.
